The finest site to see the coral reef is at Malindi & Watamu National Marine Parks, which is about 100 feet off the coast.

You will be taken on a marine tour in glass-bottom boats, where you will be able to observe several species of fish in their natural habitat.  Scuba diving is also available in clear waters during the tour, and if you are lucky you might even see dolphins.

Wild safaris and many more thrilling outdoor activities are available.

When is the Perfect Time to Visit Malindi

Did you know you may travel to Malindi for vacation at any time of year?  Yes, you certainly can.  It all depends on your preferred weather.  Even in the winter, it’s still warm; in the summer, temperatures can reach 31ºC or higher.

Malindi has a tropical climate that is hot all year.  A cooler season from June to September, when temperatures are around 28ºC (82ºF) and hotter, humid season from November to April and temperatures are around 30ºC (86ºF).

The temperature varies very little throughout the year, but the fluctuations are enough to make the hottest part of the year more uncomfortable until April, when rains begins to fall.  Sea breezes, on the other hand, help to cool things down.

How to Know the Perfect Season to Visit Malindi

  • March to May

The combination of temperature and humidity results in a warm season.  These months are rainy, with 4 ton 7 days of rain every month.  Tourism is somewhat slow during this season, making it an ideal opportunity for anyone searching for a bargain.

  • June to August

These are the coolest months and are marked by pleasant temperatures, strong winds, and only a few days of rain every month (between 0 and 2 days). This is the slowest season in Malindi, which the locals refer to as Kusi.  You’ll find accommodation and other services may be less expensive than usual during this time of the year.

  • September to December

Temperatures range from 28ºC and 31ºC at this time of year, with only a few inches of rain every month.  Because of the weather, expect accommodation to be slightly more expensive this season.

When you come to Malindi in search of adventure and pleasure, the coastal town will provide you both in spades.  The town boasts wonderful sights that everyone should see at least once in their lives.
